Privacy Policy

The Short Version
PWTray does not store your passwords. PWTray does not sell your data. PWTray communicates locally with your password manager. That's it.
What Data We Collect
PWTray operates entirely on your local machine. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your passwords, usernames, 2FA codes, or vault data. Your credentials are fetched directly from your password manager's API on your device and are never sent to our servers.
How PWTray Works
On first setup, you create a Bitwarden API key and connect your vault. On future relaunches, you unlock Bitwarden once with your master password. PWTray then queries your password manager's local CLI or API on demand and presents results locally. No data leaves your machine during this process.
Analytics & Telemetry
We use a self-hosted Matomo setup only to understand how this website is used (for example, page views, button clicks, and scroll depth). We do not sell or share this data with anyone. This is not an ad-tracking cookie network.
PWTray desktop app does not include this or any tracker.
Third-Party Services
PWTray integrates with third-party password managers (such as Bitwarden). Your use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies. PWTray does not modify, store, or cache any data from these services beyond what is needed for the current session.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
